I have 14 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist, and have been working with children with developmental issues, instructing and supporting caregivers and parents in underprivileged populations. I am an expert in developing and leading workshops designed to build social and literacy skills, as well as language enrichment for children. My passion for helping others, as well as my experience and proven skills, contribute to developing an effective and integrated Syrian community into the Canadian society with Friends of Syria.
Mona Alsehli
I completed my B.A. in French and followed that with a Public Relations Diploma and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. I have extensive experience dealing with internal and external clients, human resources and financial reporting. As a result, I am comfortable interacting and communicating with clients from a variety of cultural backgrounds. I love volunteering with Friends of Syria as one of my greatest passions is using my business knowledge to help others in need.
Shahed Ishak
I hold a Business Administration degree and have 7 years of banking experience. After moving to Canada, I have worked as a fundraiser for SickKids foundation. I have won several performance awards and have been promoted twice in both jobs. I volunteer with Friends of Syria to have direct interaction with Syrian Refugees and to help them to integrate into the Canadian society. I enjoy being part of projects that bring awareness to the Syrian Refugee crisis.

Her strength lies in English language tutoring and support as well as mentoring and coaching. Abdullah Alotaibi
I am currently pursuing my masters degree in Environmental Applied Science and Management at Ryerson University. I am very sympathetic to the many unique obstacles facing the Syrian Refugees and I have been working with them since 2015. In addition to my work with Friends of Syria, I have volunteered as an interpreter for the private sponsorship groups of the Syrian refugees in Peterborough, ON. With FoS, I hope to see Syrian Refugees given the support and assistance they need to integrate into Canadian society.
